This post is part of a series that was originally written during our 2012 section hike on the AT. To read all of the entries, click here.
During our hike in 2012, I kept a journal and I wrote in it daily without fail. I wrote about how I was feeling, the ground we had covered that day and who we saw along the way. I wrote honestly and never re-read any of the entries. I still haven't to this day. I don't know why, but I have been hesitant to read it.
Finally, today, I decided to stop delaying and just pick up the journal. I miss the trail and spring is near so the timing felt right. I hope you enjoy reading along and it gives you a glimpse of life on the AT.

Day 0
Hotel in GA
It's the night before we start our AT thru-hike and I am crazy kinds of nervous. Scared even. I'm not as excited as I was during the planning stages and I'm assuming (and hoping) that it feels different once I start hiking. That it's just nerves. Either way, I'm going for it tomorrow and better get some sleep.
