Low Gap Shelter, GA (mile 43.7)
We rolled out of Neels Gap a little late today and didn't start hiking until 11 or so, but still managed to get our 12 miles in. We got to Low Gap shelter around 5pm and settled in for the night.
We seem to have jumped up to another group of hikers and left all but one of the hikers from our original group. Maybe we will see more of them after we take time off in Hiawasee.
The weather was doing some bipolar stuff with us today. One side of the mountain would be sunny and warm, then we would come around a corner and be hit with super cold wind. The sun was out regardless so it was still a nice day.
Rooney is still doing well. Has a bit of a cough so we're going to call his vet and see what he thinks, since we've never seen him cough before.
It's too cold to write much more tonight so I'm going to bundle up and shiver myself to sleep.
