Physically we are still holding strong and my only real complaint is foot soreness, but it's to be expected considering I gained 35 pounds of pack and am using my feet 6-7 hours a day. I feel lucky that my knees, shins and ankles are doing well and I am thankful that I haven't felt a blister yet.
Rooney is doing great and we are feeling good about his food strategy. We are learning which foods give him the most energy and pack the best. Next week we enter the Smokies and will have to board him for the week since dogs aren't allowed in that area of the trail. It will be good for him to have a week off to rest, but it tugs at my heart strings a little.
